Patrick on 17.10.2017 regarding ERGOHUMAN PLUS Mesh - High End Office Black:
My ratings are quite diverse so I want to explain this. First of all, the chair is extremely comfortable. Most of the frame and the foot is made of metal and makes a solid impression. The wheels are very nice too. In general, it's a good piece of work and that was what I expected for that prize.
The major downside for me is the many customization options you have. Here, I'm only referring to the arm-rests and the back support, but mainly the armrests which are a dealbreaker. I'm not sure who really need arm-rests that you can move 10cm in and outwards or turn them about 20 degrees and change this on a daily basis. For me, this is just annoying because you accidentally screw with this all the time. You move too close to the table? Your arm-rests get shifted backward. Kids come in and lean against your chair? Your arm-rests are turned or moved into the other two directions. Compared to the very solid structure of the chair, the arm-rests feel unexpectedly wiggly. Additionally, some positions don't even make sense because the armrests touch the backrest when you lean back in your chair.
The hight, position, and direction of the arm- and backrest should be an "adjust once" thing. Compare this to a cheap IKEA chair and there you get a fixed and solid version of it for a fraction of the prize. If there really are people who need this, then there should be two versions of the armrests. I want them to have as solid and in the same quality as the rest of the chair.
I have to mention that I needed to take the armrests apart after some days to re-tighten the screws because they started to move so easily that you could do it with one finger.
